چکیده

☆ Como citar este artigo: Korppi M. Whooping cough – still a challenge. ☆☆ Ver artigo de Ferronato AE et al. nas páginas 549-53. diagnosticadas como casos de coqueluche, e posteriormen-te transmitiram a bactéria B. pertussis aos neonatos das famílias. Durante as duas últimas décadas do século passa-do, muitos pais recusaram a vacinação contra pertussis, e a incidência de coqueluche mais uma vez aumentou entre os neonatos. na maioria dos outros paí-ses. 3 Após a introdução da nova vacina acelular contra coqueluche, as doses de reforço foram feitas até as ida-des entre 14-16 anos na maior parte dos países. No futuro, a coqueluche poderá ser transmitida para adultos jovens, ou seja, para mãe e pais de neonatos prematuros, e vaci-nações de adultos jovens poderão se tornar uma medida necessária. 2255-5536 © 2013 Sociedade Brasileira de Pediatria.
